Further Orkney Success on Highland Tour

Congratulations to Neil Cormack who won the Highland Pool Tour event in Inverness at the weekend. 64 of the top players in the Highlands of Scotland competed in the competition and Neil's success is a second in succession for Orkney pool, after Keith Keldie won the previous event which was played in Forres.

Highland Pool Tour 1
Never know where to start with these things, suppose it's best to start with the winner. What a display of pool from Neil Cormack only losing 8 frames on the way to the final is outstanding; he beat Knoxy 6-2, then Andrew Cormie 6-1, then on Sunday he breezed passed both James McNeil and Joe Howie 7-1. He played Paul Mackenzie in the semi and was 3-0 down only to win 7-3. On to the final, Neil came up against ever consistent Stephen Hepburn; Neil was mopping up every mistake Stephen made to win the final 8-3. Hard lines to Stephen you just ran out of steam and all your luck was used up against John and Jimmy.
Well done to semi finalists Paul Mackenzie and Steve brown. This is the best pool I have seen Paul play, he was on fire and pulled out some class finishes. As for Steve every consistent pal your time will come.
Would like to thank Paul and his staff from the 147; the tables were first class, setting a very high standard for the rest of the venues. I also want to say a massive thank you to Joe Howie who was brilliant all weekend helping at the top table and on the stream, cheers mate.
Moving on to the second event - this is in the Weigh Inn Thurso on the 10/11 November. The event will open tomorrow when I put a post up. £25 entry - the players in tour 1 have 1 week to book there place before any other participants, then this will open up to everyone. Anyone who did not play in tour 1 and sends money before the week expires will have their money returned to them, without a place on the tour.
Cheers snowball
