*** Orkney Open Singles ***
Now taking names for the Orkney Open Singles pool tournament. Please comment on the post if you wish to enter the draw. People who have paid the £10 for all competitions for the season already are automatically entered in the draw (will update the list of entries at bottom of this post as we go along).
This is the biggest tournament in the Orkney Pool calendar and this years event will be the 16th edition of the competition. Please note this is a ranking tournament with a seeded draw (top 32 in overall rankings).
Entries are open to any Orkney resident 16 or over. The closing time and date will be 5pm Saturday the 13th of October with the draw taking place and posted on here asap after that.
The tournament will be played over 5 weeks with one round played per week (Monday to Sunday). Players are charged with organising their own games so everyone is responsible for contacting opponents, organising times, dates, venues etc (please note if fixtures are not played within the permitted time scale players risk elimination from the tournament).
Matches are best of 9,9,11,11,13,13,15 from Last 128 (depending on number of entries) through until Final.
