The Kirkwall Legion was the venue on Friday and Saturday for the 18th annual Snooker inter-county between Orkney and Shetland.
The doubles were played on Friday night and Orkney gained full control of the match as they took all 6 games to lead 6-0. Shetland responded on the Saturday by winning 2 of the first 4 singles but it wasn't long before the match was sewn up for Orkney as they won 5 singles in a row to lead 13-2. Shetland won 2 of the last 3 matches to leave the final score at 14-4 to Orkney. The result was a third win in a row for Orkney and also a 9th consecutive victory on home soil
High breaks came from Keith Keldie (95), Erik Wilson (76), Raymond Smith (55) and David Irvine (55)
