Orkney Doubles 2016/17

25 pairs competed yesterday for the Orkney Doubles and it was defending champions Erlend Grieve and Neil Cormack who came away with the crown after a 5-2 victory over Thomas Dalrymple and Erik Wilson in the final. Impressively this is Erlend and Neil’s fifth doubles trophy from the last 6 competitions though they were made to work hard yet again for their win, winning their first 3 matches by 3 frames to 2 before finding their very best form in the semi finals and final. This was also Neil and Erlend’s 4th Orkney Doubles trophy, which is a record.

Thanks go to all the players who competed, making this the largest entered Orkney Doubles in its history and thanks to The Standing Stones Hotel for hosting the event.
