73 players competed in this short format tournament playing best of 3 sets and each set best of 3 frames in every round up until the final which was best of 5 sets. The Semi-Finals saw an all Stromness Legion line-up with Keith defeating defending champion Erik Wilson 2 sets to 0 while Robert edged past teammate Kenny Vannart in a close 2 sets to 1 win.
The final was keenly contested by both but it was Keith who settled in to his rhythm the quicker and after some excellent finishing he held a 2 sets to 0 lead. Robert launched a spirited fightback winning the third set and reignited his aspirations of claiming a first Orkney singles competition title. Keith though, as he often does, surged to the finishing line winning the 4th set to clinch the match and secure the title 🏆 with a final score of 3 sets to 1.
