Keldie claims back-to-back Orkney Pool Singles victories

After 6 weeks of competition the Orkney Pool Singles came to a conclusion on Saturday with a repeat of the 2017 final with Keith Keldie meeting old foe Neil Cormack. With 11 titles between them a hotly contested final was once again expected and duly delivered.
The final was best of 15 frames so both players had plenty of time to get in to the match but Neil started the sharper of the two taking an early 2-0 lead. Unperturbed as ever Keith quickly hit back to level the scores up after a few more frames making it 3-3.
In an unusual final at times with the first player to pot often ending up losing the frame neither player could move away from the other. Despite both holding the lead over the next lot of frames after 12 played the score was 6-6 and all to play for with only 3 frames remaining.
After a long day for both players which had seen them both already win trophies that day (Keith winning the Orkney Snooker Masters and Neil winning the Orkney Pool League Doubles) it was Keith who had a decisive burst and took out the 2 frames he needed to claim an 8-6 win and retain the trophy and title of Orkney Pool Singles Champion 🏆.
Congratulations to Keith and commiserations to Neil. Thanks to all of the 68 players who took part in this competition
