Erik Wilson defends Players Championship trophy

Congratulations to Erik Wilson, who successfully defended his Player’s Championship trophy last night with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Keith Keldie in the final. The tournament had a record 80 participants and was played using the sets format where each set was the best of 3 frames. The final was indeed a repeat of last year’s match and had the exact same ending as Erik also won that match in a final frame decider. The win is Erik’s second successive competition win this year and propels him to number 1 in this year’s rankings. Thanks go to the Standing Stones for hosting the finals and to all those who participated. This is the last singles event of this year but we will be up and running again in September when the Double Elimination singles takes place. Enjoy your summer all
