This year’s Orkney Masters came to a conclusion yesterday in the Standing Stones. 79 players entered the event and 114 matches
were played in total, including play offs and group games, and it was Erik
Wilson who emerged victorious to win the trophy for the second time with an 8-7
victory over Neil Cormack in the final. The final was an incredible match, with
both players making several frame winning clearances on their first visits to
the table. Indeed, their form bodes well with both players being key players
for Orkney in next weekend’s inter county match against Shetland.
